PLEASE NOTE! -- PIECE WAS A WORK IN PROGRESS, NOW FINISHED!
So, I was browsing, since now I have Photoshop 7 again and that means even with this netbook I can work on my coloring skills once more. I was looking through some galleries, and I found these lines by (original lines were drawn by ).
Now, if you haven't twigged it by now, I'm a big fancier of harem girls and belly dancers. Just look in my gallery, you'll see.
So, I'm taking a shot at coloring these two lovely slave girls, but now here's the rub. I need some help from the more experienced colorists out there:
-- Where do I bring in the light source on this one? I usuallyu do upper left or upper right, but I need to work more variety.
-- Any suggestions for pushing the shading/effects once I have the lighting set? I've been told I need to try more "mood lighting" (i.e. -- like a nighttime illumination, or candlelight simulation, etc.). What can you recommend?
I'm hoping to keep the base color scheme I put down here, so no suggestions on that score, please.
Okay, let's begin!
EDIT #1 -- Got the first layers of shadings down and the hair highlights/shades in place. Next, going to work on the bracers/armbands.
EDIT #2 -- Armbands/bracers and some more shading done.
EDIT #3 -- Final colors and effects, the piece is now DONE!
